The SECO 00034044 is a carbide threading insert designed for precision thread cutting in both internal and external threading operations. Manufactured in the LCGN style with a neutral hand orientation, this insert carries the CP500 manufacturer grade and uses a PVD coating process over a micrograin carbide substrate. It covers an external pitch range of 1.75 to 3.00 mm, equivalent to 14 to 8 TPI, and features a 60-degree included angle suited for standard thread profiles. The FG chipbreaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during threading passes. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC lathes and manual turning centers install this insert in compatible MDT series toolholders.
This insert is applied in metalworking and machining environments where consistent thread form and surface finish are required across a range of pitches. The LCGN1603 insert size fits MDT series threading toolholders configured for that designation. It is appropriate for both production threading and job-shop applications handling ferrous and non-ferrous materials requiring the 60-degree thread angle. The 1603 insert size and neutral hand configuration make it adaptable to a variety of turning setups without handedness constraints.
Designed for use with SECO MDT series threading toolholders accepting the LCGN1603 insert size. Compatible with internal and external threading operations within the 1.75 to 3.00 mm (14 to 8 TPI) pitch range.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians on powered-down and locked-out turning equipment before insert exchange. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket and secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating to ensure proper contact and thread form accuracy. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the CP500 grade and workpiece material combination.
