The SECO 00033115 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert designed for precision grooving and cutoff operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 0.055 inch cutting width and a 0.006 inch corner radius, making it well suited for narrow parting applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. The insert carries a TiAlN/TiN dual-layer PVD coating, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of workpiece materials. The neutral lead angle and neutral hand orientation allow the insert to be used in straight-in parting passes without lateral cutting force bias. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with OD turning and parting operations specify this insert for its universal workpiece material compatibility and CP600 manufacturer grade.
This insert belongs to SECO Series 150.10 and is intended for clamp-style insert holders compatible with that series. It is rated for universal primary workpiece material compatibility, making it applicable across steel, stainless, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys in typical production turning environments. The single-end design is standard for this insert class. The chipbreaker designation is 14, which is suited to controlled-chip parting cuts. This insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces, making it appropriate for shop stocking or production replenishment orders rather than single-unit replacement purchases.
Designed for use with clamp-style insert holders in the SECO Series 150.10 toolholder family. Verify holder compatibility using the Series 150.10 insert size code 1.4 designation before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before seating the insert, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder clamp pocket is clean and free of chips or debris. Secure the clamp to the torque specification listed in the Series 150.10 toolholder documentation. Inspect the insert seating surface and clamp condition at each insert change to prevent premature edge failure or insert movement during the cut.
