Product Description

The SECO 00033067 is a solid carbide ball nose milling insert designed for use in indexable end mills and milling cutters in metalworking applications. Manufactured to the 218.20-0.750ER-ME10 ANSI and ISO standard, it carries a manufacturer grade of F40M and is coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process for extended tool life in abrasive materials. The insert measures 0.5953 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.3002 inches thick, with a right-hand cut orientation, positive rake angle of 6 degrees, a 15-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the ME10 chip breaker geometry supports efficient chip evacuation across a broad range of workpiece materials.

This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and finishing passes. It is compatible with the R218.20-01.50 cutter series and is held in place by a screw-type clamping system. A maximum depth of cut of 1.3390 inches makes it capable of handling demanding profiling, contouring, and slot milling tasks. Typical users include machinists and tool-and-die technicians working in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.

Key Features

  • Ball nose insert shape for profiling, contouring, and 3D surface milling
  • F40M fine-grain solid carbide substrate for wear resistance and toughness
  • TiAlN and TiN PVD coating for high-temperature performance and extended edge life
  • ME10 chip breaker geometry supports steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium
  • Positive rake angle (6 degrees) reduces cutting forces on workpiece and spindle
  • Right-hand single-sided insert with screw-type holding method for secure clamping

Compatibility

Designed for use with the R218.20-01.50 cutter series. Insert size code is 0.750ER. Confirmed compatible with the 218.20-0.750 series as specified by the manufacturer.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the insert using the appropriate torx or hex key per the cutter body manufacturer instructions, ensuring the seating pocket is clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Power down the machine and engage the spindle lock before changing inserts. Do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can crack the carbide body.
