The SECO 00033060 is a solid carbide ball nose milling insert designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. Carrying the ANSI and ISO designation 218.20-0.375ER-M05 and manufactured to grade F40M, this insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual-layer coating over a fine-grain solid carbide substrate. It offers two cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 3 degrees, and an 11-degree relief angle. With a corner radius of 0.375 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.669 inches, it delivers consistent performance in high-feed milling operations. Installation is by screw-holding method on compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The M05 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cuts across these material groups. The right-hand cutting orientation and single-sided configuration make setup straightforward in CNC machining centers used in job shop, aerospace, and general industrial environments. Compatible toolholder series is the R218.20-0.750 cutter body.
Designed for use with the R218.20-0.750 cutter series. Insert series is 218.20-0.375. ANSI and ISO code: 218.20-0.375ER-M05. Minimum order quantity is 10 units.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an energy-isolated state before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten. Confirm insert seating and runout before resuming cutting operations.
