The SECO 00029041 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling in demanding industrial applications. Built to the HK series standard with a MEGA Finish coating, this tool features a 0.315 inch small end diameter, a 1.378 inch length of cut, and an 8-degree taper angle per side. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle deliver efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production or tool-and-die environments.
The 00029041 is suited for milling tapered slots, pockets, and die cavities where draft angles must be held to tight tolerances. It is rated for use across multiple workpiece material groups including cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), non-ferrous metals (N), steel (P), and heat-resistant superalloys (S), making it a versatile choice for job shops and production lines running mixed materials. The 18 mm shank diameter fits standard ER or hydraulic toolholders common to vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting an 18 mm shank diameter. Compatible with primary workpiece material groups K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC tooling setup and cutting parameter selection. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank, and verify runout meets machine tolerances before cutting. The maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0008 inches. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; external coolant or air blast is recommended where chip clearance is a concern.
