Product Description

The SECO 00023740 is a carbide end replaceable milling tip designed for slotting operations in the MM12 Minimaster series. It carries a manufacturer grade of F40M with a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied to a solid carbide substrate. The tip features three flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a 0.063-inch corner radius, supporting a maximum depth of cut of 0.604 inches (15.4 mm) and a functional length of 0.783 inches (19.90 mm). Right-hand cutting geometry and a 90-degree lead angle make it a direct fit for high-precision slotting setups where controlled chip formation matters. Coolant-through capability is included, supporting efficient heat and chip evacuation during aggressive cuts.

This milling tip is suited for slotting applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is classified under ISO material grades P10 through P50, M10 through M40, N10 through N20, and S10 through S20. Typical installation scenarios include precision milling operations in production machining environments where replaceable-tip tooling reduces downtime versus solid end mill changeouts. The M04 chipbreaker geometry is optimized for chip control in these material groups.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction with PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating for wear resistance
  • Three-flute, right-hand cutting geometry with 30-degree helix angle
  • Maximum depth of cut: 0.604 inches (15.4 mm)
  • Corner radius of 0.063 inches for controlled edge engagement
  • Coolant-through design supports chip evacuation and thermal management
  • M04 chipbreaker suited for steel, stainless, non-ferrous, superalloys, and hard materials
  • Meets ANSI standards; UNSPSC code 23291601

Compatibility

Designed as a replaceable milling tip for MM12 Minimaster series toolholders. Insert size designation is 0.500-R063A30. Compatible with systems accepting MM12-style end replaceable tips per the milling tip full description MM12-0.500-R063A30-M04.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by machining technicians or toolroom personnel following standard replaceable-tip milling procedures. The toolholder and machine spindle must be fully de-energized and the machine locked out before tip replacement. Use the correct torque wrench and seating tool specified by the toolholder manufacturer to avoid over-torquing or misalignment of the tip interface. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut or feed parameters established during tool setup for the specific workpiece material.
