The SECO 00023717 is an end replaceable milling tip engineered for slotting operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide with a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating and an F40M manufacturer grade, this tip delivers consistent cutting performance across steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The three-flute geometry combined with a 30-degree helix angle and M03 chipbreaker promotes efficient chip evacuation during full-width slotting cuts. Coolant-through capability supports thermal management at the cutting edge, extending tool life in high-feed or difficult-to-machine workpiece conditions. It is installed and changed by machinists and CNC toolroom technicians working with Minimaster-style tooling systems.
This milling tip fits into the MM08 series Minimaster end replaceable system, a modular tooling platform commonly used in CNC machining centers for slotting, side milling, and profiling operations. With a cutting diameter of 0.315 inches, a maximum depth of cut of 0.394 inches, and a corner radius of 0.039 inches, it is well suited to light-to-medium slotting passes on steel and exotic alloy components. The 90-degree lead angle and right-hand cut orientation make it a standard choice for vertical and horizontal machining center setups requiring precise slot geometry. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 2 units.
Designed for use in the MM08 Minimaster end replaceable tooling system. Compatible with primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), N (non-ferrous metal), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard material) per ISO material classification. Insert size designation is 0.315-R040A30.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. The milling tip must be seated fully into the Minimaster holder and torqued per the holder manufacturer's torque specification before use. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing the tip. Inspect the holder seating surface and threads for damage or contamination before installing a replacement tip to avoid runout issues.
