The SECO 00023601 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert in the 218.19-100T-M06 series, designed for indexable milling operations in demanding metal-cutting applications. The insert carries a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating and an F40M fine-grain carbide grade, making it well suited for high-speed milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. The T-Land cutting edge style provides edge stability under interrupted cuts and hard materials. With three cutting edges and a positive rake geometry at 7 degrees, the insert promotes efficient chip evacuation and lower cutting forces. It measures 0.1094 inches thick with an inscribed circle of 0.2780 inches.
This insert is intended for use in indexable end mills and milling cutters operating in both roughing and semi-finishing passes on steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys. The M06 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cutting conditions across these material groups. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and slot milling on CNC machining centers in job shop and production environments. It is installed and replaced by machinists and tooling technicians in shops working to ISO tooling standards.
Designed for use in SECO cutter series R218.19-20 and R217.21-R100. ANSI and ISO code 218.19-100T-M06. Fits toolholders accepting the 100T insert size code with a 0.1181-inch hole diameter. This insert is single-sided.
Insert indexing and replacement is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating any insert. Use the correct torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified torque — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure accurate location and a secure hold.
