The SECO 00023464 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. This single-end, center-cutting tool features a 3 mm cutting diameter, a 0.3 mm corner radius, and a 3-flute right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix angle of 40 degrees. The diamond coating provides exceptional hardness and wear resistance, making it well suited for machining abrasive and non-ferrous materials such as graphite, carbon fiber reinforced polymers, and aluminum composites. Classified as a roughing tool for material removal, it belongs to SECO Series JD630 and includes an extended reach design for accessing deeper features.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling operations where tool rigidity and surface finish at corner transitions are critical. The 5 mm length of cut, 15 mm reach length, and 2.90 mm neck diameter allow it to reach into pockets and slots while maintaining stability. It is typically installed and used by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision CNC operators working with abrasive composite or non-ferrous workpieces. The straight cylindrical 3 mm shank fits standard collet systems without modification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement end mill for CNC milling applications requiring a 3 mm straight cylindrical shank and compatible with standard collet and tool holder systems sized for 3 mm shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool builder's tooling guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the recommended gauge length and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.01 mm before beginning production cuts.
