The SECO 00015063 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOEX180608FR-E10 and manufacturer grade F40M. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 29 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style designed to reduce cutting forces during milling operations. The insert is dual-coated with TiAlN and TiN applied via a PVD coating process, which improves wear resistance and heat management at the cutting zone. With 2 cutting edges, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and an inscribed circle of 0.4409 inches, this right-hand insert fits the XOEX-18 series and is held in place by a screw-on mounting method. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The E10 chip breaker geometry and positive rake angle make it a practical choice for finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge sharpness and chip control are critical. The insert is compatible with cutter bodies in the R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 series. Typical users include CNC machinists, toolroom operators, and production milling specialists working on horizontal and vertical milling machines or machining centers running ISO-standard tooling systems.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 as stated by the manufacturer. The XOEX-18 series insert size code 180608 governs the seating pocket dimensions required in the cutter body.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling specialist. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified value — do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and runout.
