The SECO 00015049 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOEX180604FR-E10 in manufacturer grade F40M. It is a single-sided, right-hand, parallelogram-shaped insert with a positive rake angle of 29 degrees and a 15-degree relief angle. The cutting edge is sharp-style with two cutting edges per insert. A PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating provides thermal and wear resistance for demanding milling operations. The insert is held in the cutter body by screw mounting and is designed for use by machinists and tooling technicians in production milling applications.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and general milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The E10 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across this broad range of workpiece materials. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes where a sharp, positive-rake carbide insert is specified. Typical applications include industrial machining centers and CNC milling platforms in job shop and production environments.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 as stated by the manufacturer. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO code XOEX180604FR-E10 within the XOEX-18 series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Before replacing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped, locked out, and all energy sources are isolated per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not over-torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert.
