The SECO 00015024 is a solid carbide milling insert designated XOMX180631TR-M14 in the XOMX-18 series. It carries an F40M manufacturer grade with a fine-grain carbide substrate and a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual-layer coating for extended tool life in demanding cuts. The insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 14 degrees, a T-land cutting edge style, and a 15-degree relief angle. With two cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, it is designed for productive face and shoulder milling where edge security and surface finish both matter. Machinists and CNC tooling specialists install this insert into compatible SECO cutter bodies.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium alloys. Primary workpiece material codes are P, K, and S, with secondary coverage of K and N material classes. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports medium cutting conditions across this broad material range. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and copy milling operations in production and job-shop environments on CNC machining centers. The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw clamp method and is a single-sided, single-use-per-edge design.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 per manufacturer data. ANSI and ISO designation XOMX180631TR-M14 conforms to ISO standards for insert identification and interchange.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always index or replace inserts with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque screwdriver specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamp screw to avoid cracking the insert or stripping the pocket. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or damage before installing a new insert.
