The SECO 00015007 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX180608TR-M14 in manufacturer grade F40M. The insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, positive rake geometry at 15.5 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style designed to reduce cutting forces and manage heat at the tool-material interface. A dual-layer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of workpiece materials. Two right-hand cutting edges per insert and an inscribed circle of 0.4409 inches make it suitable for demanding milling operations where tool life and surface quality are critical priorities. A licensed machinist or tooling specialist installs and indexes this insert.
This insert is designed for milling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports medium-range cutting conditions where chip control is essential. It is a screw-held, single-sided insert sized within the XOMX-18 series and is suited for both roughing and semi-finishing passes depending on feed and depth of cut parameters. The 0.6693-inch maximum depth of cut supports productive material removal in production and job-shop environments.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 as stated by the manufacturer. Verified against ANSI and ISO code XOMX180608TR-M14.
Installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or indexing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver and insert screw to seat the insert correctly against the pocket locating surfaces — improper seating can cause chatter, premature edge failure, or toolholder damage. Inspect the pocket and screw threads for wear or debris before installing a fresh insert.
