The SECO 00015002 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation XOMX180663R-M10, part of the XOMX-18 series. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram-style insert with a 90-degree included angle, engineered for use in indexable milling cutters. The insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual-layer coating over a fine-grain solid carbide substrate, grade F40M, delivering wear resistance across a broad range of cutting conditions. Cutting geometry includes a positive 19-degree rake angle, a 15-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. Each insert provides 2 cutting edges and is held in the cutter body by screw clamping.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium alloys in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The M10 chip breaker geometry is optimized for moderate feed rates and chip control across these material groups. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 milling bodies. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling on CNC machining centers in job shop and production environments. Installation is performed by machining technicians following the cutter manufacturer tooling assembly procedures.

Installation is performed by a qualified machining technician or toolroom specialist. Disengage and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface and clamping screw condition before seating a new insert to ensure accurate positioning and runout control.
