The SECO 00015001 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation XOMX180650R-M10 in manufacturer grade F40M. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, positive rake geometry at 19.4 degrees, and a 15-degree relief angle. The cutting edges are honed for consistent engagement and the insert is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN for thermal and wear resistance. With two cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, it is designed for use in indexable milling cutters by machinists and tool-room technicians working in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and N. It is applicable in both roughing and semi-finishing passes where the M10 chip breaker geometry manages chip formation across a range of feed rates. The 0.6693-inch cutting edge effective length and maximum depth of cut of 0.6693 inches make it a capable option for shoulder and face milling operations on mid-size components in both horizontal and vertical machining centers.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 per manufacturer data. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standard designation XOMX180650R-M10, series XOMX-18.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians; the spindle must be stopped and locked out before changing inserts. The insert is secured with a clamping screw through the 0.1969-inch hole diameter — use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer and avoid over-torquing the screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Confirm insert orientation is right-hand before tightening to prevent damage to the pocket or cutting edge.
