The SECO 00014953 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX180608TR-ME13 in manufacturer grade F40M. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive 25.3-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is PVD-coated with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer finish applied over a fine-grain solid carbide substrate. With two cutting edges, a 0.031-inch corner radius, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.669 inches, this insert is built for productive face and shoulder milling in demanding metal-cutting environments. It is held in the cutter body by a screw and is designed for right-hand cutting.
This insert is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It fits toolholders and cutter bodies in the R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 series, making it a practical choice for shops running SECO milling systems on CNC machining centers handling a broad range of workpiece materials. The ME13 chip breaker geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation across these material groups. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium; secondary materials include cast iron and non-ferrous metals.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians using the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the mounting screw to the cutter body seat. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Verify the insert is fully seated and the screw is torqued according to the cutter body manufacturer's specifications before engaging the spindle. Follow all machine guarding and lockout procedures before handling or changing inserts.
