The SECO 00013481 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOEX120404FR-E06 in manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN for wear resistance and thermal stability during milling operations. It features a positive rake angle of 27.4 degrees, a sharp cutting edge style, and a 15-degree relief angle, giving it a geometry suited to light, free-cutting passes. With 2 cutting edges and an E06 chip breaker, this insert is built for right-hand cutting applications across a range of workpiece materials. It is installed by screw-holding into compatible cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It falls within the XOEX-12 series and is suited to both roughing and finishing strategies where a sharp, positive-rake insert geometry is preferred. The E06 chip breaker is optimized for chip control across the primary workpiece material codes P, K, and S, with secondary suitability for K and N material groups. It is a fit for shop environments running ISO-standard tooling systems and is typically used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC milling centers.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 per supplier data. Suitable for use with ISO-standard tooling systems accepting the XOEX120404FR-E06 insert geometry.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before inserting or replacing milling inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the manufacturer-specified seating without over-torquing the pocket. Inspect the cutter pocket for wear, debris, or damage before seating a new insert.
