It features a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees and a 90-degree lead angle, making it well-suited for straight turning and facing applications where consistent cutting geometry is required. The toolholder accepts SC..32.51 inserts secured via a screw-lock clamping method, providing rigid insert retention under interrupted and continuous cutting conditions. The shank measures 0.625 inches wide by 0.625 inches tall, with an overall length of 4 inches. Toolholder material is steel. This holder is compatible with inserts sized to a 0.375-inch inscribed circle.
This toolholder is intended for turning applications across a broad range of workpiece materials, including ferrous, non-ferrous, stainless, heat-resistant alloys, and general-purpose materials — reflected in its universal primary workpiece material rating. It is a single-application tool, not a multi-use holder, and is designed for right-hand cutting direction. Typical use is on the outside diameter of a workpiece in a standard tool post or turret setup. The back-of-bar to cutting-edge dimension is 0.75 inches, which affects center-height setup when mounting in the machine.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle is stopped and locked out per applicable machine guarding and lockout-tagout procedures. Set the toolholder to center height using shims or an adjustable tool post, referencing the 0.75-inch back-of-bar to cutting-edge dimension. Torque the insert screw to the insert manufacturer's specification using the appropriate Torx or hex key — do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the insert.
