The SECO 00013160 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation LNKT080508PPTN-M06 in manufacturer grade F40M. The insert features a rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle, double-sided construction with four cutting edges, and a negative rake geometry with a 15-degree rake angle. A PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding cutting conditions. The T-Land cutting edge style supports controlled engagement, and the M06 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow during interrupted or continuous cuts. The insert is held by screw and is designed for use in milling operations on steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium.
This insert is suited for milling applications in both production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary workpiece materials include cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The insert fits the SECO R335.18 cutter series and is compatible with toolholders designed around the LNKT-08 series. It is a neutral-hand insert, making it applicable to both right-hand and left-hand cutter bodies where the LNKT-08 seat geometry is present. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling operations in aerospace and general machining environments.
Designed for use with the SECO R335.18 cutter series. Fits toolholders with LNKT-08 series insert seats. ANSI and ISO code LNKT080508PPTN-M06 can be cross-referenced for seat and pocket compatibility across holders designed to that standard.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using the specified screw-clamp method. Ensure the cutter body is fully de-energized and secured before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the cutter body manufacturer — do not over-torque the clamping screw, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Verify seating surface cleanliness before installing to ensure proper contact and runout control.
