The SECO 00013153 is a left-hand MTGN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built on the Multiple Lock series, it secures inserts using a clamp and pin holding method, providing rigid, repeatable positioning during cutting. The toolholder accepts TN..33. series inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and operates with a negative rake angle, making it well suited for interrupted cuts and harder workpiece materials. The steel shank measures 0.625 inches wide by 0.625 inches tall with a 90-degree lead angle and an overall length of 4 inches.
This toolholder is intended for professional machining environments where consistent insert indexing and secure clamping are required. The 90-degree lead angle and right-hand cutting direction support facing and straight turning passes. The universal primary workpiece material compatibility covers a broad range of material groups, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, and heat-resistant superalloys. It is sized for lathes and turning centers that accommodate a 5/8-inch square shank toolholder. Coolant-through capability is not available on this holder.
Designed to accept TN..33. series indexable inserts with a compatible insert size code of TN33 and a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Refer to the SECO insert selection guide to confirm the specific insert grade and geometry for your workpiece material and cutting conditions.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with indexable toolholder setup procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before mounting or adjusting the toolholder. Seat the shank fully in the tool block or turret pocket and confirm insert seating before initiating a cut. Follow the machine manufacturer's torque guidelines for all clamping hardware.
