Built on the Multiple Lock series, it uses a clamp-and-pin insert holding method to secure negative-rake CN..64 inserts — specifically CNMG 643 geometry — with consistent repeatability. The shank measures 1.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall, with an overall length of 7 inches and a head length of 1.49 inches. A -6-degree rake angle and -5-degree lead angle position the insert for stable, controlled cuts across a broad range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers install this toolholder in production and job-shop turning applications.
This toolholder is rated for universal workpiece material compatibility, covering material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S — spanning steels, stainless alloys, cast irons, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and more. The right-hand cutting direction makes it suited for standard OD turning toward the chuck. The back-of-bar to cutting-edge dimension is 2 inches, which factors into tool offset setup during presetting. No coolant-through capability is present, so external flood or mist coolant delivery applies where needed.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel with the machine in a full stop and energy-isolated state per OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Verify tool offset and back-of-bar-to-cutting-edge dimension on the machine preset station before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the insert or toolholder's rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material being machined.
