The SECO 00013003 is a left-hand MCLN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for negative-rake external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a 1.5-inch by 1.5-inch square steel shank and an overall length of 7 inches. The Multiple Lock clamping system uses both a clamp and locating pin to secure CN-style inserts, providing rigid, repeatable positioning under heavy cutting loads. A rake angle of -6 degrees suits hard and interrupted cuts across a universal range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this toolholder in standard turning centers and turret lathes.
This toolholder is suited for general turning applications across a broad spectrum of materials, including steels, cast irons, stainless alloys, non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant superalloys, and other materials designated under ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The left-hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for face-turning toward the tailstock or for setups requiring opposite-hand engagement. The 2-inch back-of-bar to cutting edge dimension provides clearance suited to standard turret block configurations.
Accepts CN..64. series inserts; confirmed compatible insert designation is CNMG 432 with a 0.75-inch inscribed circle. Compatible insert size code is CN64.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret. Verify that the shank bore and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating. Use the appropriate torque wrench per machine-tool manufacturer guidelines when tightening turret clamping screws, and confirm insert clamp torque per the insert manufacturer specification sheet.
