The SECO 00012698 is a right-hand MDJN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built on a 1-inch by 1-inch square shank and measuring 6 inches in overall length, this toolholder accepts DN..43. series inserts and uses a Multiple Lock clamping system that combines a top clamp and locating pin for rigid, repeatable insert seating. The negative rake geometry and -6-degree rake angle are suited to interrupted cuts and harder workpiece materials where edge stability is a priority. Steel construction throughout provides durability in production turning environments. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians.
This toolholder is appropriate for external turning on a broad range of workpiece materials including steels, cast irons, stainless alloys, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and aluminum. The universal material compatibility rating covers ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S, making it a versatile holder for shops running mixed-material production. The -3-degree lead angle positions the insert for moderate depth-of-cut applications and general turning passes. Compatible insert size codes are DN43 and DN44, with an inscribed circle of 0.5 inches.
