The SECO 00012669 is a left-hand MCLN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built on a 1-inch by 1-inch square shank with an overall length of 6 inches, this toolholder uses a clamp-and-pin Multiple Lock system to secure negative-rake CN-style inserts. The negative rake angle of -5.46 degrees provides stable, controlled cutting performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The holder is manufactured from steel and is intended for installation and use by machinists and toolroom technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This toolholder is suited for left-hand turning applications where the tool feeds from left to right relative to the workpiece. It accepts CNMG 643 inserts with a 0.75-inch inscribed circle, making it a practical choice for medium to heavy turning passes on universal workpiece materials, including ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, superalloys, and cast materials corresponding to ISO material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The -5 degree lead angle geometry supports efficient chip flow and edge engagement during straight turning cuts.
Accepts CNMG 643 inserts (CN..64. insert family) with a 0.75-inch inscribed circle. Insert holding method is clamp and pin. Compatible workpiece material codes: H, K, M, N, P, S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the toolholder. Verify the turret pocket or tool post matches the 1-inch by 1-inch shank dimensions before clamping. Confirm insert seating and clamp torque per the machine tool and insert manufacturer guidelines before initiating a cut.
