The SECO 00009125 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the TPMM 321-46 series, designed for precision metal removal on difficult-to-machine materials. Featuring a triangular insert shape with a 60-degree included angle, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert is built for demanding cutting applications. The grade 883 carbide substrate and honed cutting edge deliver consistent performance across back turning, boring, facing, and turning operations. Neutral hand orientation makes it a versatile choice across compatible toolholders used in CNC turning centers and manual lathes.
This insert is primarily suited for machining superalloys and titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials as indicated by workpiece material codes S, M, K, N, and H. It is appropriate for use in production environments where tight tolerances and reliable tool life are required. Applicable material grades are S10, S20, and S30. The 46 chip breaker geometry supports positive rake cutting action, reducing cutting forces on heat-sensitive and work-hardening alloys common in aerospace and energy sector components.
Designed for use in TPMM-style toolholders that accept a 321 insert size with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding. ISO code TPMM160304-46 and industry standard number TPMM321-46 apply. Verify toolholder seat geometry and clamping configuration before installation.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping components are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw, as improper clamping can cause insert movement or premature failure.
