The SECO 00005982 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOEX120416FR-E06 and manufactured to grade F15M. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 26.3 degrees, and a sharp cutting edge style. The insert is PVD-coated with TiAlN and TiN layers for wear resistance in demanding cutting conditions. With two right-hand cutting edges and a maximum depth of cut of 0.4724 inches, it is suited for high-productivity milling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians install this insert in compatible indexable milling cutters.
This insert is designed primarily for hard material applications, with secondary suitability for cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The E06 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during milling passes. The XOEX-12 series insert fits into screw-held pockets on compatible cutter bodies and is well suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and similar indexable operations in production machining environments, both manual shop and CNC cell settings.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 as stated by the manufacturer. This insert uses the XOEX120416FR-E06 ANSI and ISO designation for cross-reference purposes.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle fully before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw; handle inserts with care as carbide edges are brittle and chip on impact. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for debris or damage before installing a new insert.
