The SECO 00005964 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX120424TR-ME08 in manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate. It measures 0.4567 inches in length, 0.3228 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.1996 inches in thickness. The positive rake geometry at 20.1 degrees combined with a T-Land cutting edge style and ME08 chip breaker promotes controlled chip formation and reduced cutting forces. Two cutting edges are available per insert. It is designed for use in face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed applications performed by machining professionals and CNC operators.
This insert is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Primary workpiece material codes are P, K, and S; secondary codes are K and N. The ME08 chip breaker geometry makes it well-matched to light-to-medium roughing and semi-finishing passes in both interrupted and continuous cuts. It is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-12 and R220.69-12 and is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver specified by the cutter body manufacturer to engage the screw clamp — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout control.
