The SECO 00005762 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOMX090308TR-M08 in manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding milling operations. The cutting geometry uses a positive rake angle of 10.5 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style, with a 15-degree relief angle. Two cutting edges are available per insert. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.3543 inches, and the insert is held in the toolholder by screw clamping. It is suited for licensed machinists and tooling professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium alloys. Primary workpiece material codes are P, K, and S; secondary codes are K and N. The M08 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium cutting conditions across these material groups. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose peripheral milling in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The insert is compatible with the SECO cutter series R217, 69-09, and R220.69-09, making it a direct fit for toolholders already in that platform.
Confirmed compatible with SECO cutter series R217, 69-09, and R220.69-09. Insert series designation is XOMX-09. Designed for screw-clamp toolholders accepting the XOMX 09 insert style in right-hand orientation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not substitute fasteners. Inspect the pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing the insert to ensure proper seating and prevent premature edge failure.
