The SECO 00005686 is a single-tipped polycrystalline diamond (PCD) turning insert designed for high-speed machining of non-ferrous metals and other difficult-to-cut materials. Built to the CCMW series flat-top geometry, it features an 80-degree diamond insert shape with a positive rake angle and sharp cutting edge for clean, efficient material removal. The insert carries a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, a 1/64 inch corner radius (0.0157 inches decimal), and an insert thickness of 5/32 inch (0.1563 inches). It is uncoated bright PCD, making it well suited for applications where a coated carbide insert would wear prematurely. Machinists and CNC tooling technicians install this insert using a screw-holding method on compatible toolholders.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on non-ferrous metals including aluminum alloys, copper, and similar materials in both production and job-shop environments. The flat-top chip breaker geometry and sharp edge minimize built-up edge on gummy materials. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO code of CCMW09T304F-L1 and an industry standard number of CCMW32.51F-L1, allowing direct cross-reference to compatible toolholders.
