The SECO 00002683 is a right-hand A-MCLN indexable boring bar designed for internal turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built from steel with a 2-inch shank diameter and 16-inch overall length, it accepts CNMG 432 inserts held by a pin-and-clamp method. The 95-degree lead angle and negative rake geometry deliver stable cutting performance on a wide range of bore diameters starting at 2.56 inches. Integrated through-coolant capability directs cutting fluid to the insert edge for improved chip evacuation and tool life. This bar is sized for production turning environments where rigidity and insert repeatability are critical.
The 00002683 is intended for right-hand turning applications on horizontal and vertical turning centers. With a 2-inch shank diameter and 16-inch OAL, it fits heavy-duty boring heads and gang-style turrets common in production shop environments. The minimum bore diameter of 2.56 inches makes it suitable for mid-to-large bore work in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. Through-coolant must be supported by the machine spindle or turret for that feature to function. Compatible insert size code is 43, using a diamond-shaped insert with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling setup personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the boring bar. Confirm the turret or tool block is rated for the 2-inch shank diameter and that through-coolant passages are clear and properly connected before running. Torque the clamping screws to the machine or toolholder manufacturer specifications — do not overtighten, as this can damage the insert seat.
