The SECO 00001445 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert in the RCMM-46 series, designed for high-performance metal cutting applications. This round insert carries a 1-inch inscribed circle, a 0.25-inch thickness, and a 0.5-inch corner radius, making it well suited for aggressive material removal in demanding turning operations. The 883 grade carbide substrate is formulated for cutting superalloys and titanium as its primary workpiece material. With 4 cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style, the insert delivers consistent performance across facing, profiling, and turning applications. Installation is handled via clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholding systems.
This insert is primarily intended for turning superalloys and titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. It is a neutral-hand insert appropriate for use on CNC lathes and turning centers in both production and job-shop environments. The full-radius round shape and positive rake geometry allow it to be indexed to multiple cutting positions, maximizing tool utilization. This insert is installed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified hardware when securing the insert via clamp, pin, or lever lock to prevent insert movement during cutting. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamping components for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
