The SECO 00000912 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX180608R-M10 with a manufacturer grade of F40M. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate. It offers two cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 22.4 degrees, a 15-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge style. The M10 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip flow across a range of milling applications. The insert is secured by screw-type holding and is designed for use in compatible indexable milling cutters.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The F40M grade with PVD coating is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes where edge toughness and heat resistance are priorities. The XOMX180608R-M10 geometry targets applications where positive rake and a controlled corner radius reduce cutting forces and extend tool life. It is compatible with the R217.69-18 and R220.69-18 cutter series from SECO, making it a direct fitment insert for those tool bodies in the XOMX-18 series.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18. The insert follows the XOMX-18 series standard and conforms to ANSI and ISO code XOMX180608R-M10.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the screw-type clamping method standard to XOMX-series tool bodies. Before indexing or replacing inserts, confirm that the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout and tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and torque the clamping screw to the value specified in the cutter body documentation — do not estimate torque. Inspect the pocket and seating surfaces for chips or wear before mounting a new insert.
