The SEAL-TITE 697-06 is a 6-inch adjustable ductboard takeoff fitting designed for use in low-pressure forced-air duct systems built with ductboard panels. Takeoff fittings connect branch ducts to a main duct trunk or plenum, and the adjustable design allows the installer to set the opening position during layout without requiring a separate fixed fitting for each application. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers are the primary trades that work with this component during new construction and retrofit ductwork projects.
The 697-06 is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC installations where fiberglass ductboard is the primary duct material. It fits into the ductboard surface to create a branch takeoff point, directing conditioned air from the main trunk toward a supply register. The adjustable feature makes it practical for installations where branch locations need to be set in the field rather than pre-cut at a fixed position.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for fiberglass ductboard forced-air duct systems requiring a 6-inch adjustable branch takeoff.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers following SMACNA ductboard fabrication guidelines. Power down the air handling unit and close the system before cutting into an existing ductboard trunk. Use a sharp ductboard knife and appropriate scoring tools to prepare the takeoff opening, and seal all edges with approved foil tape or mastic per local mechanical code requirements to maintain system air tightness.
