The SEAL-TITE 217-10 is a galvanized sheet metal round duct tee joint designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems. It splits or combines airflow at a branch point in a round pipe run, with the crimp supplied on the run end for a secure, airtight connection. Constructed from 24-gauge galvanized metal, this tee measures 10 inches by 10 inches by 10 inches, making it suitable for main trunk and branch runs of equal diameter. HVAC installers and sheet metal mechanics use this fitting where a round duct system requires a straight-through run with a perpendicular branch takeoff.
This tee joint is used in round sheet metal duct systems for forced-air heating and cooling applications. Its equal-diameter configuration handles trunk-to-branch connections where all three openings share a 10-inch diameter. The crimp-on-run design simplifies field assembly by allowing the fitting to slip directly into the next section of round pipe without additional field crimping on that end. It meets applicable standards including CCR/Title 24, IECC, HARDI, ACCA, AHREXPO, and ADI, making it appropriate for installations requiring documented code compliance.
Designed for use with 10-inch round sheet metal duct pipe in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal mechanic. Power down the air handling unit and lock out the system before making any duct modifications. Secure all joints with the appropriate sheet metal screws and seal with UL 181-listed mastic or foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Do not use this fitting on oval, flex, or rectangular duct without an appropriate transition.
