The SEAL-TITE 20204 is a round duct board collar designed to create a 4-inch branch connection point in fiberglass duct board systems. It installs into a field-cut opening in duct board and serves as a take-off fitting, allowing branch runs to connect to round metal pipe or flexible duct. This type of collar is a standard component in low-velocity residential and light commercial HVAC ductwork, providing a secure mechanical connection between the main duct board trunk and branch distribution lines. Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians during new construction or duct retrofit work.
The 20204 collar is suited for fiberglass duct board trunk systems where branch take-offs are required at 4 inches. It accepts round pipe or flex duct at the branch connection, making it compatible with typical residential supply-air distribution layouts. The collar seats into the duct board at the cut opening and is secured using standard duct board fabrication techniques including foil tape and mastic as required by code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit collar for fiberglass duct board HVAC trunk systems requiring a 4-inch round branch take-off connection.
Installation is performed by qualified HVAC technicians. Power down the air handling system before cutting into existing duct board or disturbing any branch connections. The collar should be set into a clean, properly sized cut opening in the duct board and sealed with approved foil tape and mastic in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards and local mechanical codes. Do not leave the collar unsealed, as air leakage at take-off points reduces system efficiency and may cause comfort issues.
