The SEAL-TITE 1729-14 is a round duct board spin-in collar designed to create a 14-inch branch connection from a duct board plenum or trunk to round pipe or flexible duct. The collar drops into a field-cut round opening in the duct board and locks in place using integrated mounting tabs for a stable, rattle-free fit. A built-in scoop directs conditioned air from the main duct into the branch run, improving airflow transition. The integrated damper blade allows the technician to balance airflow at each branch without adding a separate balancing damper downstream.
This collar is used in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems where duct board is the primary trunk or plenum material. It is suited for new construction and retrofit installations where a branch takeoff is needed for a supply run serving a room or zone. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers are the typical trade installing this fitting. The 14-inch size fits high-volume supply branches or larger room loads.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for duct board trunk and plenum systems requiring a round spin-in branch collar connection.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal installers. Power down the air handler and set the thermostat to off before cutting into an existing duct board system. Use a round hole saw or duct board knife sized to the collar diameter, and ensure the cut opening is clean and square before inserting the collar. Seal the perimeter of the collar flange to the duct board with UL 181B-rated tape or mastic to prevent air leakage at the joint.
