The SEAL-TITE 1729-06 is a round duct board spin-in collar designed for creating a 6-inch branch takeoff in fiberglass duct board systems. It connects the main duct board trunk to round pipe or flexible duct at branch points. The collar uses an integrated tab-mount design that locks into a field-cut opening in the duct board wall without additional fasteners. A built-in scoop directs supply air into the branch run, and the integrated volume damper allows airflow adjustment directly at the takeoff. HVAC installers and sheet metal technicians use this fitting to balance or restrict flow to individual zones or rooms during system commissioning.
This collar is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air supply systems built with fiberglass duct board. It is a standard takeoff fitting used in new construction and retrofit applications where a round branch connection is needed off a duct board plenum or trunk. The 6-inch size accommodates common flex duct and spiral pipe branch runs in single-family and multi-unit residential installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting for fiberglass duct board supply systems using 6-inch round flex duct or rigid round pipe branch connections.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers. Shut down the air handling unit and confirm the system is depressurized before cutting into the duct board. Cut the round opening to the manufacturer-specified knockout size before inserting and seating the collar tabs. Seal all edges at the duct board interface with approved UL 181-rated tape or mastic to maintain system airtightness per local mechanical code requirements.
