The SEAL-TITE 1727-07 is a 7-inch ductboard collar fabricated from 30-gauge galvanized steel, designed to create secure, low-leakage connections between ductboard and round ductwork in forced-air HVAC systems. The collar features a 6-inch long crimped end that slides into flexible or rigid round duct, locking in place without the need for specialty tooling. Its galvanized steel construction resists corrosion in attic and crawlspace environments where ductboard systems are commonly found. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers working on residential and light commercial air distribution systems are the primary installers of this fitting.
This collar is sized for use with 1-inch and 1.5-inch ductboard panels and accepts 7-inch round ductwork connections. It is well-suited for supply and return branch takeoffs in residential new construction and retrofit ductboard plenum applications, as well as light commercial build-outs where ductboard is the specified insulated duct material. The long crimp length provides additional surface area for sealing with mastic or foil tape per SMACNA standards, supporting a durable and code-compliant air seal.
Designed for use with 1-inch and 1.5-inch ductboard panels as an OEM-style collar fitting for 7-inch round duct connections in residential and light commercial HVAC ductboard systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal installer. Shut down the air handling unit and confirm the system is de-energized before cutting into existing ductboard plenums. Apply UL 181-rated mastic sealant or foil-backed tape to all collar joints per local mechanical code and SMACNA ductwork sealing requirements. Avoid over-inserting the crimped end into flexible duct liner, as this can restrict airflow at the collar throat.
