The SEAL-TITE 1288-06 is a stick-on duct takeoff fitting designed for connecting branch supply ducts to main trunk lines or plenums without the need for cutting or welding sheet metal. The self-adhesive mounting base bonds directly to flat duct surfaces, creating an airtight connection point for 6-inch branch runs. At 6 x 6 x 6 inches, this fitting is sized for standard residential and light commercial supply applications. This model does not include a damper, making it well suited for zones where airflow is controlled upstream or where a separate balancing damper will be installed. HVAC sheet metal installers and duct fabricators are the primary trades that work with this fitting.
The 1288-06 is commonly used in residential forced-air systems during new construction or duct modification work. It mounts directly to trunk ducts or supply plenums, eliminating the need to cut a collar hole before installing a branch takeoff. This approach speeds installation on jobs where multiple branch connections are required along a main trunk run. The fitting is intended for low-pressure supply duct systems typical of residential and light commercial split or packaged HVAC equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for residential and light commercial forced-air supply duct systems using 6-inch round branch connections.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers. Power down the air handler or furnace and close the disconnect before working on any duct system connected to live equipment. Ensure the bonding surface on the trunk duct is clean, dry, and free of grease or debris before applying the adhesive base. Seal all joints with listed duct sealant or UL 181-rated tape per local mechanical code requirements.
