The SEAL-TITE 1210-1612 is a duct head end cap designed to terminate or seal the open end of a rectangular duct section measuring 16 inches by 12 inches. End caps of this type are used to close off unused duct openings, cap branch takeoffs, or seal dead-end duct runs in forced-air HVAC systems. The part prevents conditioned air loss and maintains system static pressure at termination points. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers typically use this component during new construction, duct modification, or system balancing work.
This end cap is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems where a 16-inch by 12-inch rectangular duct opening requires a secure, airtight closure. It is commonly installed at the end of supply or return trunk lines that have been capped off during a system redesign, zone modification, or seasonal decommissioning of a duct branch. The profile is sized to fit standard rectangular duct fabricated to those nominal dimensions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation end cap for standard 16-inch by 12-inch rectangular duct sections used in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified sheet metal workers. Power down the air handling unit and close the system disconnect before working inside the duct system. Secure the end cap with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-listed mastic or foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Do not leave duct terminations unsealed, as open ends reduce system efficiency and can create pressure imbalances.
