The SEAL-TITE 10506 is a round duct starting collar designed to create a branch take-off from a plenum or main trunk line to round pipe or flexible duct. The collar measures 6 inches in diameter and features an uncrimped end, allowing direct connection to crimped round pipe or flex duct without additional modification. A flat flange around the perimeter secures the collar flush against the duct surface once an opening is cut. Licensed HVAC technicians install this fitting during duct system fabrication and branch run layout.
This starting collar fits standard residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems where a branch run originates from a plenum box or rectangular trunk line. The flange mount design is suited for sheet metal plenum work and insulated duct board applications. The uncrimped outlet end accepts standard 6-inch crimped round duct sections or 6-inch flexible duct, making it a practical choice for both new construction and retrofit branch duct runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 6-inch round duct branch connections in residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians following local mechanical codes and SMACNA duct construction standards. Power down the air handling unit and relieve system pressure before cutting into any pressurized duct section. Cut a round opening to match the collar diameter, insert the collar, and fasten the flange to the duct surface using sheet metal screws or approved fasteners, then seal all edges with listed duct sealant or mastic per applicable code.
