The SDC - SECURITY DOOR CONTROLS 492 is a pull release station with integrated siren designed for access control applications. It provides a manual means of releasing an electromagnetic or electric strike door-holding device while simultaneously triggering an audible alarm. The unit is intended for installation in commercial and institutional facilities where emergency egress and security notification are required at the same point of activation. Security and low-voltage systems integrators are the primary trade installing this device.
The 492 pull release station is suited for use in commercial buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and other environments where controlled egress points must meet both access control and life-safety requirements. It is typically mounted near a secured door to allow authorized or emergency manual release of an electrically held door while alerting occupants or security personnel through the onboard siren.
Designed as an OEM-style pull release station for use with compatible electromagnetic door holders and electric strike access control systems in commercial low-voltage installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or security systems technician in accordance with applicable local codes and NFPA 101 life-safety egress requirements. Disconnect and de-energize the access control circuit before wiring or mounting the device. Verify that the connected door-holding hardware is compatible with the release output before commissioning. Do not install in locations where the pull mechanism or siren vents may be obstructed.
