The SDC Security Door Controls 160IV is a direct throw electric bolt lock designed for access control applications in commercial and institutional door hardware installations. Operating on either 12 or 24 volts DC, the 160IV provides a hardened bolt that projects directly into a strike to secure a door without relying on a latch mechanism. This makes it well suited for aluminum storefront doors, hollow metal frames, and sliding door assemblies where a positive locking bolt is required. Access control technicians and commercial locksmiths are the primary installers for this type of hardware.
The 160IV is intended for commercial access control systems where a fail-safe or fail-secure electric bolt is specified. Typical installations include single entry doors, vestibule control points, and interior secured areas in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and government buildings. The dual voltage input of 12 or 24 volts DC allows integration with a wide range of access control panels and power supplies already in the field.
Designed as an OEM-style direct throw electric bolt lock for use with standard commercial access control systems accepting 12 or 24 volts DC input.
Installation should be performed by a licensed access control technician or commercial locksmith familiar with low-voltage door hardware. Disconnect and lock out all power to the access control panel and door hardware circuit before beginning work. Verify local building and fire codes regarding electric locking hardware on egress paths before installation. Follow the manufacturer product manual for strike alignment and wiring termination procedures.
