The SCOTCH 7000123384 is a blue polypropylene masking tape engineered for clean, controlled paint masking on a wide range of surfaces. At 1 inch wide and 60 yards long, this tape provides substantial coverage per roll. The rubber adhesive delivers a firm bond during painting while releasing cleanly when the job is done. At 4.8 mil thick, the tape resists tearing during application and removal. A tensile strength of 15 lb/in allows it to handle the mechanical stress of wrapping around irregular surfaces without splitting. Rated for use up to 250 degrees F, it holds up through short-duration heat exposure common in finish and prep work. Trade painters, body shop technicians, and maintenance crews working in industrial or commercial settings are the primary users.
This tape is suited for interior and exterior paint masking applications where crisp paint lines are required. Its construction is designed to conform to irregular surfaces and resist lifting and curling during the masking process. It performs well on trim, fixtures, piping, equipment housings, and other surfaces that require temporary protection during spray or brush application of coatings. Note that this tape should not be subjected to prolonged outdoor exposure beyond the active work period.
Designed as a general-purpose masking tape for paint masking applications on a variety of surfaces including irregular profiles where conformability and clean removal are required.
Apply to clean, dry surfaces free of dust, oil, and loose material for best adhesion and line quality. Remove tape promptly after painting while the coating is still slightly wet or fully cured, depending on the coating manufacturer guidance, to reduce the risk of surface damage. Do not leave tape exposed to outdoor conditions or extended UV exposure beyond the active masking period. No special tools are required, though a tape dispenser or cutting blade improves efficiency on high-volume jobs.
