The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TT180350A is a solid carbide single point threading tool designed for internal thread cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built for threading diameters starting at 0.18 inches, it covers a range of 18 to 56 threads per inch (TPI) with a 60-degree profile angle, making it suitable for unified and metric thread forms that share that geometry. The AlTiN+ coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. A licensed machinist or CNC operator will install and run this tool in live tooling or standard turret setups.
This tool is used in precision machining environments where internal threads must be cut in small-diameter bores. With a 0.18-inch minimum threading diameter and 0.35-inch cut depth, it handles shallow internal thread profiles in small bores common in aerospace, hydraulic fittings, and instrumentation components. The 0.25-inch shank fits standard ER or collet-style toolholders found on most CNC turning centers. The 0.04-inch projection from edge keeps the cutting edge close to the holder for rigidity in tight bore conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application tool for CNC lathes and turning centers accepting a 0.25-inch shank single point threading insert holder or collet system.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before loading or changing tooling. Verify shank seating and collet torque per the machine and toolholder manufacturer guidelines before running. Do not exceed the tool's rated minimum bore diameter or cut depth to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
