The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TT090300A is a single point internal threading tool machined from solid carbide and coated with an AlTiN+ finish for extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. Designed for threading small-diameter bores, it handles a minimum thread diameter of 0.09 inches and covers a range of 32 to 64 threads per inch (TPI). The 60-degree profile angle makes it compatible with standard unified and metric thread forms cut in internal applications. With a cutting depth of 0.3 inches and a projection from edge of 0.025 inches, this tool is suited for precision lathe and CNC turning center operations performed by machinists working in tight bore geometries.
This tool is intended for internal threading operations in small-bore components such as fittings, inserts, and precision hardware. It fits a 1/8-inch shank and has an overall length of 1.5 inches, making it well suited to Swiss-type lathes, micro-turning centers, and conventional CNC lathes equipped for small-diameter tooling. The AlTiN+ coating improves heat resistance and wear performance when threading steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous alloys at elevated cutting speeds. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant is applied externally during operation.
Designed as an OEM-style single point threading insert for use in internal threading applications on CNC lathes and turning centers that accept 1/8-inch round shank tooling with a 60-degree thread profile requirement.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC lathe or turning center operation. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from its holder. Verify shank clamping torque meets the toolholder manufacturer specification before running. Set cutting parameters based on workpiece material hardness and consult thread programming guidelines for single point threading cycles.
