The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TMI6.0-1.00-HA is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal M6 x 1.00 metric coarse threads. It features three right-hand flutes ground from submicron carbide stock and is coated with AlTiN+ for extended tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. With a cutting diameter of 0.169 inches and a length of cut of 0.488 inches, this tool is sized for tight-tolerance internal thread milling in precision machined components. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environments are the primary users.
This thread mill is suited for machining internal M6 x 1.00 metric coarse threads in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is run on CNC machining centers using helical interpolation cycles. The 0.2362-inch shank diameter fits standard toolholders used for small-diameter end mills and thread mills. It does not require coolant-through capability, making it compatible with standard external coolant setups. Typical applications include threaded bore production in aluminum, steel, stainless, and titanium components where a single tool must produce a complete thread form in one helical pass.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation cycles for internal metric coarse thread milling applications with a 0.2362-inch shank toolholder.
This tool is installed and run by machinists or CNC programmers on vertical or horizontal machining centers. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are sized to the 0.2362-inch shank diameter and that runout is minimized before threading operations begin. Program the correct helical interpolation cycle for M6 x 1.00 pitch before cutting - incorrect pitch programming will produce out-of-tolerance threads. Inspect the cutting edges before each use; carbide thread mills are brittle and should not be used if chipping or coating breakdown is visible.
