The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TMI12-1.75-HC is a solid carbide helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal metric coarse threads in a machining center environment. Built from submicron-grade carbide and finished with a TiN coating, it produces M12 x 1.75 threads in a single helical interpolation pass. The cutting diameter measures 0.36 inches, the length of cut is 0.923 inches, and the overall length is 3.93 inches. Four right-hand flutes provide balanced chip evacuation and stable cutting action. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in precision manufacturing, tool rooms, and production shops.
This thread mill is suited for applications requiring M12 x 1.75 metric coarse internal threads in materials compatible with solid carbide tooling. Typical use cases include threading blind or through holes where tap breakage risk is a concern, where a single tool must cover a range of thread depths, or where the part material demands the rigidity of carbide over high-speed steel. The 10.00 mm shank diameter fits standard ER or hydraulic toolholders common in CNC machining centers. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or MQL is recommended when cutting conditions require it.
Designed for CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation; fits toolholders accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter and is sized for M12 x 1.75 metric coarse internal thread applications with a minimum nominal bore diameter of 0.4724 inches (12.00 mm).
Installation and operation of this thread mill requires a CNC machining center programmed for helical interpolation - do not attempt to run this tool on a manual mill or lathe. Secure the shank in a balanced, properly torqued toolholder before spindle engagement. Verify programmed thread depth does not exceed the 0.923-inch length of cut. Always confirm the workpiece is fixtured rigidly and the spindle is at full RPM before feed engagement to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
