The SCIENTIFIC CUTTING TOOLS TM130-32N is a straight flute thread mill designed for cutting 10 to 32 UNF threads in both external and internal applications. Built from T15 powdered metal and finished with a TiCN coating, it delivers strong wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool runs 3 flutes with a 0.13-inch cutting diameter and a 0.356-inch length of cut, making it well suited for compact thread milling operations on CNC machining centers. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 1/4-inch shank, it fits standard tool holders used in production and job shop environments.
This thread mill handles both external and internal 10-32 UNF thread profiles in a single tool, reducing the need to swap between dedicated taps and external thread mills. It is appropriate for light production runs, prototype work, and precision threading where tap breakage risk is a concern. Machinists working in shops producing threaded fastener features in steel, stainless, and similar materials will find it a practical addition to the threading program library.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers capable of helical interpolation for thread milling 10 to 32 UNF external and internal thread forms.
Thread milling requires a CNC control with helical interpolation capability - confirm controller support before programming the tool path. Secure the 1/4-inch shank in a collet or end mill holder with adequate clamping force to prevent pullout during cutting. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for T15 powdered metal tools. Inspect the TiCN coating before each use and replace the tool if chipping or wear on the cutting edges is visible.
