The SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC QOB215GFI is a 2-pole, 15-amp thermal magnetic miniature circuit breaker with integrated ground fault equipment protection (GFEP), sold under the Square D QWIK-GARD brand and QOB-GFI series. Rated at 120/240 VAC at 50/60 Hz with a 10 kiloampere interrupting rating, it provides simultaneous overload protection, short circuit protection, and ground fault detection at a 6 milliampere trip sensitivity. The bolt-on design mounts directly into NQOD panelboard interiors. Licensed electricians install this breaker as part of new construction or panel service work where equipment ground fault protection is required by code.
This breaker is designed for use in residential and light commercial electrical distribution panels requiring GFEP on branch circuits. It accepts aluminum wire from 12 to 8 AWG and copper wire from 14 to 8 AWG via pressure plate terminals. Typical applications include circuits serving HVAC equipment, motors, or other loads where equipment-level ground fault protection is specified by the NEC or local amendments. The common trip mechanism ensures both poles open simultaneously on a fault condition.
Designed for bolt-on installation in Square D NQOD panelboard interiors. Verify panelboard compatibility with the NQOD series before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the panelboard at the main disconnect and verify absence of voltage with a meter before handling any breaker or wiring. Ensure conductor size and type match the terminal ratings listed for this breaker. Do not re-energize the panel until all conductors are fully seated and the breaker is firmly locked into the bolt-on mounting points.
